Do you want to prevent your Windows 10/11 PC’s screen from going off automatically?

Your Windows 10/11 PC’s screen automatically turns off because of the power settings. With default settings, the PC’s screen goes off after a few minutes of idle time to save power.

If you are annoyed by this feature, you can configure your Windows 10/11 PC to stop turning off the screen.

You can either use the Settings app or Control Panel to stop Windows 10/11 from turning off the screen.

Method 1 of 2

Stop Windows 10/11 from automatically turning off the screen

Step 1: Open the Settings app. On a Windows 10 PC, go to System > Power & sleep page. And if you are on Windows 11, navigate to System > Power & battery page.

Step 2: On a Windows 10 PC, the right side of the page offers screen and sleep settings.

On a Windows 11 PC, scroll down the page to see the Power section. Here, click on Screen and sleep to see its settings.
