Like web browsers and some classic desktop programs, apps in Windows 10 also support add-ons. One can install add-ons for apps to add new features and enhance the overall functionality of an app.
Add-ons for apps can be installed from the official Windows Store. For instance, there is Photos Add-on for the Photos app in Windows 10.
There are very few app add-ons available in the Store for now.
While installing app add-ons from Windows Store is easy, novice users might find it difficult to uninstall them as they neither appear in Control Panel nor in Apps category of Settings.
If you have installed an app add-on and want to remove it from Windows 10 installation, here is how to easily uninstall app add-ons from your Windows 10 computer.
Uninstall app add-ons from Windows 10
Step 1: Open the Settings app. Navigate to Apps > Apps & features.
Step 2: App add-ons don’t appear in the apps list. To view add-ons installed for an app, you need to open Advanced options page for that app.
For instance, if you want to uninstall add-ons installed for Photos app, you need to click on the Photos app entry in the list.
So, click on the app’s entry whose add-on you want to uninstall, and then click Advanced options link.
Step 3: On the Advanced Options page, in the App add-ons and downloadable content section, all installed add-ons for the selected app will appear.
Step 4: Click on the add-on that you want to uninstall and remove from Windows 10 PC, and then click Uninstall button. Click the Uninstall button again when you get the confirmation dialog to remove the app add-on. That’s it!
