Many users are under the impression that Apple iCloud storage is accessible only from iPhones, iPads, and Macs and cannot be accessed from Windows 10/11 computers. However, contrary to popular belief, iCloud storage can also be accessed from Windows 10/11 PC.
There are two ways to upload your files to iCloud storage from a Windows 10/11 PC. This guide shows you how to upload files from your Windows 10/11 PC to iCloud.
Method 1 of 2
Upload files to iCloud drive via web browser on Windows 10/11 PC
Step 1: In a web browser of your choice, visit the iCloud website and sign in using your Apple credentials.
Step 2: Once you sign in, on the home page of iCloud drive, click on the iCloud drive icon to open the iCloud Drive page.
Step 3: The iCloud Drive page shows your recent files. On the left pane of the page, click Browse and then select the iCloud folder where you would like to upload the file(s).
To upload files to your iCloud account, click on the upload icon in the toolbar (refer to the picture), select the file(s), and then click the Open button to begin uploading the file. That’s it!
Depending on the size of the file and internet connection speed, the upload time will vary from seconds to hours.
Method 2 of 2
Upload files to iCloud via iCloud app on Windows 11/10
Most PC users are not aware that Apple also offers an official iCloud desktop client for Windows operating system. Using the official iCloud app, you can manage your iCloud files from your Windows 10/11 File Explorer.
Step 1: Open the Microsoft Store app, search for iCloud, and then install the official iCloud app.
Step 2: Launch the iCloud app using the Start menu/taskbar search. Sign in to your iCloud/Apple account.
Step 3: Once you sign in, open File Explorer.
Step 4: On the left navigation pane, click on the iCloud Drive’s entry to see the iCloud storage folder.
Step 5: Paste the file(s) you want to upload to your iCloud account to the root or specific folder on the iCloud drive to begin uploading it to your account.
