Siri, the personal voice assistant feature in the latest version of the iPhone, has been making news around the world for its ability to respond and answer questions. As some of you know, a few similar apps are available for both Windows Phone 7 and Android, but none of them come close to Siri.
If you don’t know, Siri can make phone calls, send messages, set reminders, schedule meetings, and provide much more information from the web.
Unfortunately, there is not even a single Siri-like application available for Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 operating systems. Users who don’t mind trying new applications can try Mitini, a small standalone program for Windows that aims to be your personal voice assistant.
Even though the software is still in the early stages of development, it works pretty well in some areas. For instance, you can use Mitini to search for computers on eBay or know Apple or Microsoft stock prices.
Mitini uses Microsoft’s speech engine, and it recognizes your voice and replies pretty well. The current version of Mitini is not as powerful as Siri or other voice assistant software available on Windows Phone or Android. It can’t schedule meetings, can’t set reminders, can’t launch applications, but it works! So, what can it do? The below video should give you an idea of how well the software works and what it can do.
One can also give commands like “Play Final Countdown song”, or “Search for Bing on Google”.
Because Mitini is in the experimental stage, you can likely expect some minor to major issues while using this software. For example, you may get a “Sorry, I didn’t get that” message once in a while.
We hope the developer will continue improving Mitini. You can download Mitini from the download link provided at the end of this article. It’s a standalone utility and doesn’t require an installation.

Hello. Sorry for the technical difficulties we are having this time of year. We will try to fix the phrase “Sorry, I didn’t get that”, from being repeated over and over.
Thank you for your understanding.

It is so obvious that Siri was a human voice and not a complicated result of Mathematics since there was absence of pure tones in the voice.
