Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 back in 2020. Although it’s been more than four years since Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7, tens of millions of users are still running Windows 7 for various reasons.
In addition to Microsoft, many software developers no longer support Windows 7. For instance, Google Chrome no longer offers its latest version of Google Chrome for Windows 7. In short, the newest version of Google Chrome cannot be installed on Windows 7.
Does Google Chrome’s latest version support Windows 7?
As said earlier, the latest version of the Google Chrome browser does not support Windows 7. In other words, the newest version or recent versions of Chrome browser is not compatible with Windows 7. So, you cannot install the latest version of Chrome on Windows 7.
That said, you can install Chrome version 109 on Windows 7 without issues.
Chrome version 109 can be installed on Windows 7 by downloading the current version of Chrome installer and then running it on your PC.
The official Chrome download page shows the “This device won’t receive updates because Google Chrome no longer supports your operating system” message if you visit the page on a Windows 7 PC. When you run the downloaded Chrome installer, Chrome version 109 is installed instead of the latest version.
Workaround to install Google Chrome’s latest version on Windows 7 PC
While one cannot install the latest versions of Google Chrome on Windows 7 computers, there are a few workarounds. While altered Chrome installers are available, we do not recommend downloading and installing Chrome browsers from unknown websites.
The best solution is probably to update your Windows 7 installation to Windows 10 and then install the latest version of Chrome or any other browser software.

All versions of Google Chrome until version 109 officially supported Windows 7. So, if you are running Windows 7, you can consider installing Chrome 109 on your PC.
