Google Chrome is probably the most used web browser on computers as well as smartphones. On Windows 11, millions of users have set it as the default web browser.
If, like several others, you use Google Chrome often to browse the web, you might want it to start automatically with Windows 11 so that you do not need to launch it after turning on your computer.
By adding Chrome to the Windows 11 startup, you can make Chrome automatically start as soon as you turn on your Windows 11 PC.
Follow the directions below to add Google Chrome to the Windows 11 startup so Chrome can start with Windows 11.
NOTE 1: We assume that the Google Chrome browser is already installed on your Windows 11 computer.
NOTE 2: You can also add the Chrome shortcut to the Windows 11 desktop to launch it quickly.
Method 1 of 2
Add Google Chrome to Windows 11 startup
Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search, type Google Chrome to find the Chrome entry in the search results.
Step 2: Right-click the Google Chrome entry in the search results and click the Open file location option.
Step 3: Clicking the Open File location option should open the Programs folder. Here, look for the Google Chrome entry. Right-click on it and then click the Copy option.
Step 4: Use the Windows logo + R hotkey or use the search to open the Run command dialog.
Step 5: In the Run command, type shell:startup and then press the Enter key to open the Startup folder.
Step 6: Finally, right-click anywhere on the Startup folder and then click the Paste option to add Chrome to the Windows 11 startup. That’s it!
From now onwards, whenever you turn on or restart your computer, Google Chrome will automatically start with Windows 11.

Make Google Chrome start automatically with Windows 11
Step 1: Open Windows 11 Settings using search or right-click on the Windows logo/Start button on the taskbar and then click the Settings option.
Step 2: On the left pane of the Settings app window, click Apps. Now, on the right side, click Startup.
Step 3: The Startup page in the Settings app can be used to find apps that start with Windows 11 and also to enable or disable a startup program.
Here, look for the Google Chrome entry. If present, turn it on to make it automatically start with Windows 11. If Chrome is not present on the list, refer to the directions mentioned above to add Chrome to Windows 11 startup.
