Follow the directions given below to change the Microsoft Edge browser language to English.
We assume that the Edge browser is currently using a language you do not understand. Hence, you can use this guide even if you cannot understand the current language being used by Edge browser on Windows 10/11 PC and Mac.
Method 1 of 2
Change Edge browser’s language to English on Windows 10/11 PC and Mac
Step 1: Open the Edge browser. Click on the three dots in the toolbar (refer to the picture below) and then click on the settings/gear icon to open the Edge settings page.
Step 2: Now, in the left pane of the Settings page, you need to click on the Languages tab. The languages tab has the letter “A” next to it (refer to the picture below). So, finding it should not be difficult even if you do not understand the language.
Step 3: After selecting the Languages tab, you need to choose English on the right side. To set the English language, click on the three dots next to the English language entry (if you understand the language) and then click the first option from the top.
NOTE 1: If more than one entry is found in the list, use the help of Google or Bing to know which language it is.
NOTE 2: If the English language is not found in the list, click on the top-right button, type English in the search box, select English, and then click the left button (refer to the pictures below) to install the English language and then repeat these steps again.
Step 4: Next, you will need to click the newly appeared button (refer to the picture below) to restart the Edge browser and apply the English language.

Change Edge browser language back to English
If the Edge browser is being displayed in a language that you do not understand, here is an easy way to change the Edge browser’s language back to English. However, remember that you will lose your Edge browser’s data such as bookmarks, browsing history and passwords.
Step 1: Uninstall Edge browser from Windows 10/11. Refer to our how to uninstall Edge from Windows 10/11 guide for directions.
Step 2: Once uninstalled, visit this page of Microsoft Edge and click on the Download button. Different installers are available for Windows and macOS. So, be sure to download the correct one.
Step 3: When you get a dialog box, select the English language from the drop-down menu and then click the Download button (the button on the lower right) to download the Edge browser installer.
Step 4: Run the downloaded installer and follow the easy on-screen directions to install the Edge browser and automatically change the language to English.
