With the recent launch of Outlook.com webmail service from Microsoft, computer users now have multiple email services to choose from. The new email service from Microsoft not only sports a clean and advertisement-free interface but also comes with some cool features.
Hotmail, Live, and MSN users can experience and enjoy the new service by using their existing email addresses. Users with email address from other webmail services need to sign up to begin exploring the new service. Microsoft has been offering option to rename your Hotmail, Live and MSN accounts to Outlook.com without losing old email messages and contacts, and users can also forward new emails from their accounts to Outlook.com account by configuring appropriate settings.
Users who have been enjoying Outlook.com may want to move all old email messages from their previous accounts to the new Outlook account at once. Users can complete the below mentioned steps to copy messages, and contacts to the new Outlook account without deleting messages and contacts to the new account.
For instance, when you move messages and contacts from your [email protected] to [email protected], you will see all old emails in a new folder and your emails from [email protected] won’t be deleted.
So, you can use this method to either move mails to the new account or create a backup of your messages on your Outlook.com. Please note that this method doesn’t support moving messages and contact from Yahoo! Mail.
Step 1: Visit this TrueSwitch page from your Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox browser.
Step 2: Type in your email address and password of your account from where you want to copy old emails and then type in the new Outlook.com email address and password.
By default, TrueSwitch copies your e-mail messages, your address book, and automatically informs your contacts about the new address that you’re moving to. You can disable any of these by deselecting appropriate options.
Step 3: Click Copy to Windows Live Hotmail button to start transferring messages and contacts to the new account. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours to complete the transfer and you will receive an email once the job is done.
