Microsoft OneDrive is one of the leading cloud storage services out there. Just like other cloud storage providers, OneDrive also lets you view and restore deleted files and folders with ease.
This guide will show you how to view and restore files and folders deleted from your OneDrive account.
NOTE 1: If you are using OneDrive with a Microsoft account (not a work or school account), your deleted files and folders will be available to restore for up to 30 days. So, you cannot view or restore files that have been deleted more than 30 days ago.
NOTE 2: If using a work or school account, your deleted files will be permanently deleted from OneDrive Recycle Bin after 93 days.
View and restore recently deleted files on OneDrive in Windows 10/11
Step 1: Click on the OneDrive icon on the system tray area of the taskbar to open the OneDrive flyout.
Step 2: Here, click on the Recycle Bin icon to open OneDrive’s Recycle Bin page in your default web browser.
Step 3: If asked, type your OneDrive credentials to sign in. Your OneDrive account is nothing but your Microsoft account.
Step 4: Once signed into your OneDrive account, click Recycle Bin on the left navigation page to switch to the same.
Step 5: Now, on the right side, you can see the recently deleted files. To restore a deleted file, right-click on it and then click the Restore option to restore it back to its original location (the location from where it was deleted).
You can also permanently delete a file or folder from OneDrive Recycle Bin by right-clicking on it and then clicking the Delete option. Once a file is removed from the OneDrive Recycle Bin, you cannot view or restore it.
