Microsoft has been adding new features to the Edge browser from time to time. This time, Microsoft has introduced a new feature called Workspaces, which is available in the latest version of Edge.
The Workspaces in Microsoft Edge lets users organize tabs by project or task. The Workspaces feature is helpful for users who keep tens of tabs open. For instance, you can move and keep all tabs related to your road trip in a separate workspace.
In addition to organizing tabs, the Workspaces feature also lets you invite and chat with collaborators so that all of you can work on a project or task. For instance, if you are planning a road trip with your friends, you can create a Workspace for this purpose and share it with your friends so that they can also access all the tabs in the Workspace.
The ability to invite, share, and chat with collaborators makes this feature different from the grouping feature that has been present in Edge for a while now.
In the newest version of Edge, the Workspaces icon shows up on the left of the toolbar. You can click the icon to see options for creating and accessing Workspaces.
However, if you do not open multiple tabs and do not wish to use this feature, you can turn off and remove the Workspaces icon from the Edge title bar. Here is how.
Method 1 of 2
Hide the Workspaces icon from the Microsoft Edge browser
Step 1: Perform a right-click on the Workspaces icon and then click the Hide from toolbar option. That’s it!
Method 2 of 2
Remove the Workspaces icon from Edge via the Edge Settings page
Step 1: Click on the Settings and more icon (three dots) and then click Settings to open the Edge settings page.
Step 2: On the left pane, click Appearance.
Step 3: Scroll down the Appearance page to see the Customize toolbar section. Here, turn off the Show Workspaces option to remove the Workspaces icon from the Edge.
