Are you wondering why your Microsoft Office Word application shows the “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with copilot” message each time you open a new blank document? Would you like to turn off or remove the “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with copilot” message from Office Word? Read on to know why the message appears and how to remove it.
Why does Office Word show “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with copilot” message?
The “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with copilot” message appears in the Word program because the Microsoft generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool, called Copilot, is available for your Microsoft Office subscription, and the same is enabled.
The Copilot tool, as you might already know, lets you draft documents, create and insert AI-generated images, summarize documents, and more.
While the Copilot is a handy AI tool, not all users will use it because these AI tools are not perfect, at least not just yet.
If, for whatever reason, you would like to remove or turn off the “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with copilot” message, you can do so by disabling the Copilot feature in Office Word.
