Is a website showing notifications on your Windows 11 desktop? Don’t you like to see notifications from websites right on your desktop? Here is how to turn off website notifications on your Windows 11 PC.
Generally, website notifications appear only when you give consent to websites to show notifications. By default, website notifications appear on the lower right corner of the Windows 11 desktop as well as in the notification center. You may click on the desktop notification to open the webpage.
While some users might like notifications right on the desktop, most users get annoyed and want to get rid of them.
Websites show notifications on your Windows 11 desktop using web browsers such as Google Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. A website shows notifications on your Windows 11 desktop because when you browse it, it asks you to send notifications, and you click the “Yes” or “OK” button.
Website notifications can be turned off in the web browser itself, provided that you know the web browser where you gave consent. This is easy if you have only one or two web browsers. If you use multiple web browsers, you might find it difficult.
Since you do not know which web browser is used to display notifications on your Windows 11 desktop, here is an easy method to turn off website notifications.
Turn off notifications from websites on Windows 11 desktop
Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings app using search or Windows logo + I hotkey.
Step 2: On the left side of the Settings app window, click System. Now, on the right side, click Notifications.
Step 3: Scroll down the page to see Notifications from apps and other senders section.
