Are you fed up with the frequent banner notifications from apps on the Windows 10 desktop? Want to turn off all notifications or notifications only for apps that annoy you the most? In this guide, we will see how to do just that.

Notifications are a great way for apps to keep users informed. However, at times, you might feel that notifications are distracting you from your actual work. For instance, if you are flooded with new email desktop notifications, you might want to turn off the Mail app’s email notifications.

Luckily, recent versions of Windows 10 offer many settings and options to change the default behavior of notifications. In this guide, we will see how to turn off notifications for all apps, turn off notifications for a specific app, and turn off only desktop banner or action center notifications.

Important: We do not recommend turning off notifications for antivirus programs or programs that you have installed to enhance the security, as doing so might prevent your antivirus program from alerting you about a virus or malicious software.
