3 Ways To View Recently Closed Tabs In Microsoft Edge On Windows & Mac

Microsoft Edge is a popular web browser among Windows users. It’s fast, stable, secure, and offers plenty of features to make your web browsing enjoyable.

Some of the features offered by the Edge browser are very handy. For instance, the ability to view and restore recently closed tabs. Yes, you can find and restore recently closed tabs or web pages in a few seconds without installing additional plug-ins or software. The feature is useful when you have accidentally closed one or more tabs.

Microsoft Edge browser offers multiple options to view recently closed tabs on Windows and Mac computers.

NOTE: Microsoft Edge and other web browsers do not save browsing history when using the InPrivate mode to browse the web. So, these methods do not work for tabs closed in InPrivate mode.

Method 1 of 3

Find recently closed tabs in Edge on Windows & Mac

Step 1: Open the Edge browser. Click the three dots (menu icon) in the toolbar and then click History to open the History flyout.

Alternatively, on Windows, you can use Ctrl + H hotkey and Command + Y on Mac to open the same quickly.

Step 2: Here, click Recently closed to see a list of all recently closed tabs. You can click on an entry to open it immediately.

Method 2 of 3

View recently closed tabs in Edge from the Windows taskbar

Needless to say that, this method works only on a computer running Windows operating system.

Step 1: Launch the Edge browser if it’s closed.

Step 2: Perform a right-click on the Edge browser icon on the taskbar to see the jump list. All recently closed tabs appear in the Recently closed section. Click on an entry to open it.

If you accidentally closed a tab but do not want to go through the steps mentioned above, which require multiple clicks, you can use the Ctrl + Shift + Tab (Command + Shift + T on Mac) hotkey to quickly reopen the last closed tab.

For instance, if you were watching a YouTube video but closed it accidentally, you can simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + Tab (Command + Shift + T on Mac) hotkey to open the same page again.

If you have closed multiple tabs, press the hotkey multiple times! Simple as that!
