On PC, many users have installed the WhatsApp Desktop so that they can send and receive WhatsApp messages right from their computer.
Many times, while using WhatsApp Desktop, you might want to save a picture or video file shared by one of your contacts to your Windows 10 PC for future use.
Although WhatsApp Desktop allows saving pictures and videos to your computer, it is not as easy as on your phone. For instance, when you right-click on a photo, it does not offer the save option. The same applies to videos as well. Because of this, many users are under the impression that WhatsApp Desktop does not provide a way to save pictures and videos to computer.
If you are on WhatsApp Desktop and would like to save a picture or video file, you need to follow the instructions given below to save images and download videos to your computer.
Method 1 – download WhatsApp videos to PC
Method 2 – save pictures to PC
Method 1 of 2
Save/download videos in WhatsApp Desktop
Step 1: Perform a double-click on the video file that you want to download to your computer. Doing this will open the video in the dedicated window.
Step 2: Click on the download icon in the toolbar (refer to the picture below), select a location on your PC to save the video file, type a name of the video file and then click the Save button.
NOTE: If the WhatsApp download video icon is greyed out, it is likely because the video is not downloaded or your PC is not connected to the internet. Click on the video file, and once the video content is ready to play, click on the download icon.
Method 2 of 2
Save pictures in WhatsApp Desktop in Windows 10
Step 1: Launch WhatsApp Desktop on your computer.
Step 2: Right-click on the picture you would like to save to your Windows 10 computer and then click the Copy image option.
Step 3: Open the Paint (or any other image editing program) and then paste (or press Ctrl + V) the picture.
Step 4: Click the File > Save option. If you are using any other program, you should see a similar option in the File menu. If you cannot find the Save option, use the Ctrl + S keyboard shortcut.
Step 5: Type a name for the picture you are about to save and then click the Save button. That is it!

Double-click on video does same as single click at least with Firefox-Windows. Doesn’t open a new window. So no way to save the video.

It helped me a lot. But I also want to suggest a thing. For dowloading the image you can right click on it and then click save image as then you can save simply without doing all that process on pasting word and then saving. But thank u for the advice for saving video.
Thanks
