The Learn about this picture serves multiple purposes. First, double-clicking on it brings up a Bing search webpage with more information about the current desktop background. Yes, finding where a spotlight picture was taken is so easy now.

Right-clicking on the Learn about this picture shows “Open,” “Switch to next picture,” “I like this picture,” and “Not a fan of this picture” options. The “Open” option brings the Bing page with details about the current desktop background. The “Switch to the next picture” option applies the next Spotlight collection picture in the queue.

The “I like this picture” or “Not a fan of this picture” options allow you to tell Windows 11 to show or not show a similar picture in the future.

I hate the “learn about this picture” popup. It’s STUPID and a pain. MS should just make it an option and move on. It’s worthless. All the machinations to remove it tells me some idiot developer thought it would be fun and if not piss off a lot of people.

What a ridiculous non-solution. How about you remove everything but the last sentence and save everyone some time? Why would hiding all desktop icons be an acceptable solution? It’s insane that this result shows up in a search engine, let alone near the top.
