Apple recently released the Apple TV preview app for the Windows operating system. The Apple TV lets you watch Apple TV+ films, original series, and sports right on your Windows computer.
As you might have discovered by now, the Apple TV app is available for Windows 11 only. Unfortunately, this means the Apple TV app is unavailable for Windows 10.
The fact is that close to 70% of Windows users are still running Windows 10 even a year after the release of Windows 11. The unavailability of Apple TV for Windows 10 means that a large group of Windows users cannot use the app.
The Apple TV app appears in the Windows 10 Microsoft Store. However, the page shows a “The version of Windows on your PC does not meet the minimum requirements for this product” message.
You have two options if you have subscribed to Apple TV+ and are running Windows 10. Watch the Apple TV+ videos in a web browser or upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and install the Apple TV app.
Users who cannot upgrade to Windows 11 because of the minimum hardware requirements set for Windows 11 can access the Apple TV+ content in a web browser. Additionally, if you often access the Apple TV+, you can install Apple TV+ as an app using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. Here is how.
Install Apple TV+ as an app in Windows 10 using Chrome
Step 1: In the Chrome browser, visit the Apple TV+ website. Sign in to your account if you wish to do so.
Step 2: In the Chrome toolbar, click on the three dots next to the profile icon, click More tools and then click Create shortcut.
Step 3: When you see the pop-up, select the Open as window option and click the Install button. The Apple TV+ will be installed as an app.
You can now use the Start/taskbar search to launch the Apple TV+ app.
Install Apple TV+ as an app in Windows 10 using Microsoft Edge
Step 1: Open the Apple TV+ website in the Edge browser.
Step 2: Click on the three dots in the toolbar (refer to the picture below), click Apps and then click Install this site as an app.
Step 3: When you see the following pop-up, click the Install button.
Step 4: Once installed, you will see a pop-up asking if you wish to pin the app to Start and taskbar. Select what you want before clicking the Allow button. That’s all!
You can now launch the Apple TV+ app using search.
