How To Set ChatGPT As Default Search Engine In Chrome & Edge On Windows 11

Last Updated on April 16, 2025 by admin Leave a Comment

Ever since the initial release of ChatGPT, millions of users have been using it. A few months back, OpenAI, the company behind it, launched ChatGPT search so that users can get real-time information from the web.

The ChatGPT search can be accessed right from the ChatGPT website or the ChatGPT app for Windows. However, if you find yourself using it often than the traditional search engines such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo, you might want to set ChatGPT as the default search engine in your Chrome and Edge browsers.

Although changing the default search engine is easy in Chrome and Edge, setting ChatGPT search as the default search engine is not as easy as these browsers do not offer an option. Luckily, OpenAI has released an extension that, by installing it, allows one to set ChatGPT as the default search engine in Chrome and Edge.

Complete the given directions below to set ChatGPT as the default search engine in Chrome on Windows 11
