The new Outlook for Windows app will soon replace the Mail and Calendar app in Windows 10 and Windows 11. The new Outlook app is web-based and borrows UI clues from the Outlook.com website.
The new Outlook app is a very competent webmail client for Windows. It offers everything you can find in the Mail app and does much more. Microsoft has been adding new features and options to the new Outlook app. So, you can expect it to be a feature-rich webmail app soon.
While the Outlook app looks very promising, many users prefer using third-party apps such as Mozilla Thunderbird or eM Client. Users who have been using third-party email clients might not want to switch to the new Outlook app.
If you are also one of those users, you might want to uninstall and remove the new Outlook app from your Windows 10/11 installation.
This guide shows you how to uninstall the new Outlook for Windows app from Windows 11 and Windows 10 via the Settings app.
Since the new Outlook app is available in the Microsoft Store, you can always install a fresh copy of it whenever you feel like using it.
NOTE: As of writing this article, the old Mail and Calendar app continues to be available in Windows 10 and 11. Uninstalling the new Outlook app will not remove the old Mail and Calendar app. If you wish to remove the Mail and Calendar app, refer to our how-to uninstall Mail and Calendar app in the Windows 10/11 guide.

I have g-mail. I have uninstalled outlook MANY times and it keeps coming back and switching my “mail”. I DO NOT LIKE IT. HOW do I permanently delete it. Just uninstalling through programs has not done it.
