Did a notification from the Windows 11 operating system go off the screen before you could read it completely? Would you like to see recent notifications on your Windows 11 PC? Read on to learn how to view recent notifications on a Windows 11 PC.
The Notifications Center in Windows 11 allows you to view all recent notifications that you might have missed.
This guide shows you the two easy ways to access the Notification Center to view recent notifications.
NOTE 1: All recent notifications appear in the Notifications Center by default. However, if you have changed an app’s settings not to show notifications in the Notifications Center, notifications from the specific app will not be displayed in the Notifications Center.
NOTE 2: The Notifications Center does not display notifications that you have already viewed.
Method 1 of 3
View recent notifications in Windows 11
Step 1: Click on the date/time on the Windows 11 taskbar to open the Notifications Center. If a bell icon is visible, you may click on it to open the Notifications Center.
As you can see in the picture below, the Notifications Center displays all recent notifications. Click on a notification to view it in the respected app. For instance, if you click on a WhatsApp notification, it will open in the WhatsApp app.
If you have multiple notifications from a specific app, a +N Notifications button appears right below a notification from the app. Click on it to view all notifications.

The Windows notification feature is broken as designed. When a notification comes up, you only have a short amount of time to react if you want to read it. When you do, and go to the notification centre it will probably have already deleted it, with no way to then read it. Now it apparently decided to pause notifications from apps that have sent multiple notifications in a short amount of time. Like security cameras in an emergency for example. I have simply turned the thing off, and hope I never see another sign of it.

I have the same problem as Mark Hetherington. I’ve gone through all the online suggestions to fix the problem but my Notification Center will no longer open at all. All my apps are set to notify and I’ve restarted the service several times. Also made a new user logon and it doesn’t work there either. All the settings are set to on except for “Do not disturb”. It used to work fine but now it doesn’t.

I agree with the above comments. Can’t review notifications that didn’t last long enough to read.

Not working for me. In fact I think I have only managed to read about 2 in 2 years.
I know how to make them stay longer. That would anoy me. I just want to find where they are arcived
after they flash up and anoy me. This way i can read them them I am ready.

Doesn’t work for me on my W11 PC. I just had a very important notification popup for a couple of seconds but before I could read it all it had disappeared. I tried Windows + N, I tried clicking the time/date thing and I tried clicking the bell icon, but all it says in the Notification Centre is “No new notifications”. I’ve never seen ANY past ones after the popup has disappeared and have no idea where to find them.
