Snip & Sketch (previously known as Screen Sketch) is replacing the classic Snipping Tool. The new Snip & Sketch not only helps you take screen snips but also annotate and share them.
While Snip & Sketch is slightly better than the Snipping Tool as far as features are concerned, it lacks several essential features that you find in third-party free screen snipping utilities. Tools like Greenshot and PicPick are certainly better than the Snip & Sketch app in Windows 10.
If you are using a third-party screen capturing tool on your Windows 10 PC, you might want to uninstall the default Snip & Sketch app.
In this guide, we will see how to uninstall the Snip & Sketch app in Windows 10.
NOTE: If you want to start using the Snip & Sketch app again in the future, you can get it from the Windows Store.
Method 1 of 2
Uninstall Snip & Sketch via PowerShell
Step 1: Run PowerShell with admin rights. To do that, right-click on Start button on the taskbar and then click Windows PowerShell (admin) option.
Click Yes button when you get the UAC prompt.
Step 2: In the PowerShell window, type Get-AppxPackage and then press Enter key to list out all the apps installed on your PC.
Locate Snip & Sketch app entry and copy its PackageFullName.
Step 3: Execute the following command to uninstall Screen Sketch:
Get-AppxPackage PackageFullName | Remove-AppxPackage
In the above command, replace PackageFullName with the actual PackageFullName that you copied in the previous step.
If you are having issues with this method, use the directions in Method 2 of this guide.
Method 2 of 2
Uninstall Snip & Sketch using CCleaner
Step 1: Download CCleaner for Windows 10 and install the same on your PC. If you don’t want to install an additional software, you may download the portable version.
Step 2: Run CCleaner and navigate to Tools > Uninstall.
Step 3: Look for Snip & Sketch entry. Select its entry and then click Uninstall button. Click OK button when you get the confirmation dialog to uninstall the Snip & Sketch app.

Install Snip & Sketch from the Windows store and then uninstall it from the start menu. It worked 100% on my Windows 10 laptop.

Just reinstall it in the Microsoft Store and then uninstall it again. 100% worked for me without even restarting on my windows 10 laptop.

Although, Snip & Sketch is somewhat useful, I wish Microsoft would bring back Photo Editor. This was the best app for creating screen captures and annotating them to create instructions – simple and easy to use. I’ve tried to install it in Windows 10, but it doesn’t work.
Also, whoever decided that light gray type on a white background was easier on the eyes should have their head examined. It is hard on the eyes and causes more eye strain.

Let’s simplify this a bit, because there is no reason people need to sort through a huge list of apps. They can *find* the app by first using Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Name “*ScreenSketch*” which will return a single app for 99.99% of all Windows 10 users, which they can then copy-paste into the remove command.

Both methods 1 and 2 were tried..
The app persists.
How do I remove this?

I agree with James above. I swore never to purchase Microsoft
products again.

Neither of these methods works, even though the instructions were good and easy to follow, The results yielded nothing. I can still open snip and sketch using windows key + shift + s key. and sometimes i accidently hit this combination while gaming and it completely wrecks me.

Just another CRAPLET from Micro$oft, may they burn in Hell.
